2 QUOTES

I'm reading a devotional every day that a friend gave me, thank you Liz! It's by Sarah Young, titled: JESUS CALLING.
The last 2 days have had 2 GREAT quotes...

"Trust protects you from worrying and obsessing. Thankfulness keeps you from criticizing and complaining."

"Your inadequacy presents you with a continual choice- deep dependence on Christ, or despair."

Will be chewing on those more today!

Another quote...

"God gave me this tender heart, and though I want to give up my chronic insecurity, I really do want to hang on to my heart. I like to feel. When I don't feel something, it's like being dead." p84

I am so not relating to her at all! ;)

So Long...

Beth Moore's new book, So Long Insecurity, hit my mail box this week. I am a huge Beth fan. She tells it like it is and pushes me to face truth. Love it.
I am in chapter 5 and just thought I would share some quotes from the book...
"I forget that in order to really want to GO, something has to happen to make me want to leave where I am." p12
"The question is whether or not our insecurities are substantial enough to hurt, limit, or even distract us from profound effectiveness or fulfillment of purpose." p15
"Insecurity's best cover is perfectionism." p19
"But then change happens... We realize we weren't secure. We were spoiled." p25
"The more careful we are about what we're projecting, the more driven we tend to be by fear." p33
"Most of us have what I'll call a prominent false positive: one thing that we think would make us more secure in all things." p36
"To let the healthy, utterly whole, and completely secure part of us increasingly overtake our earthen vessels until it drives our every emotion, reaction, and relationship." p43
"Inviting even the worst and most unfair circumstances into the spotlight sets the stage for a miracle." p65
I'm excited to see what the Lord has in store. I know insecurity is my #1 struggle... let the miracle begin!!!
If anyone happens to be reading the book too... let me know... would love to chat!

Questions...

"Am I fully trusting God to meet my needs?"
"Am I relying on the Spirit to hide His truth in my heart?"

These are two questions that I am wrestling with right now. So thankful for God's grace and unfailing love to continually challenge me closer to Him. No better place to be!

Also read this quote this morning... "We are saved by past grace, but we are not safe unless we recieve present grace." -Spurgeon

ps: Thanks for letting me know you are reading!
